If you are getting ready to sell your home then you might wondering what a house sale kit is and how exactly it can help you sell your home. A house sale kit is a collection of items, including a St. Joseph statue that can make your home sell fast. Real estate agents and house flippers often use house sale kits to get offers on houses that they are trying to sell and most of them say that using a house sale kit works every time.

A house sale kit is built around a statue of St. Joseph because according to tradition praying to St. Joseph and then burying a statue of him upside down in the yard of the house that you’re trying to sell will help the house sell faster. The tradition of using a statue of St. Joseph to help sell your home has been around for hundreds of years.   There are a lot of different stories about how the tradition started, but one of the most popular stories says that hundreds of years ago German carpenters and builders who were building new homes would place small statues of St. Joseph in the walls and in the foundations of the homes that they were building as a way of blessing the home.   Since St. Joseph is the patron saint of the home and also the patron saint of workers like home builders and carpenters it makes a lot of sense that the workers would pray to St. Joseph and use a statue of him to bless the homes that they were building. 

Another story about the origin of the tradition is that many hundreds of years ago St. Teresa of Avila was looking for a new piece of land where she could have a convent built for the order of nuns that she had founded and she couldn’t find a piece of land that suited her needs and was something she could afford.   So she had all of her nuns pray to St. Joseph since he is patron saint of land and home hoping that he would help her find the land that she needed.   Their prayers worked and she found the right land and built the convent and after that it became customary to pray to St. Joseph for help in finding a new home. Over the years the tradition became for the seller of a property to pray to St. Joseph as well so that the right buyer would be guided to the property.

A traditional house sale kit usually includes a small statue of St. Joseph that should be buried in the yard of the property that you want to sell, a prayer card picturing St. Joseph that also has a prayer for selling a home printed on it, a candle to represent St. Joseph and some incense that you should burn while you are praying. Set the statue in a secure place, light the candle, and pray the prayer that is printed on the card. When you’re finished take the statue out into the yard and bury it upside down.   Keep the candle and the prayer card together and light the candle and say the prayer at least once a day until you get an offer on the house. You’ll be surprised at how quickly that offer will come according to most real estate agents that use a house sale kit on each property that they are representing.
